Khoiyachora Waterfalls

Khoiyachora Falls is a waterfall located in the hills of Mirsarai in the Chittagong district of Bangladesh. Compared to other waterfalls in the Mirsarai Upazila area, such as Kamaldaha Falls, Napittachhara Falls, Sahasradhara Falls, and Jharjhari Falls, Khoiyachora Falls and its jhiripath are among the largest. It has a total of nine large waterfall steps and many smaller ones. The waterfall is named ‘Khoiyachora Falls’ due to its location in the Khoiyachora Union of the Mirsarai Upazila.

One of the largest waterfalls in Bangladesh

It is one of the largest waterfalls in Bangladesh. Its nine amazing steps make it unique. The atmosphere is really beautiful, with a good flow of water and green forests around. However, the trail to the waterfall is somewhat risky. Travelers must be careful. It is highly recommended for adventure lovers.

The higher you climb, the more beautiful it gets. It gets especially beautiful during the rainy season, when the trail becomes more challenging. This is the best waterfall I have ever seen.

By local standards, it is a spectacular waterfall. However, it requires a long approach, involving a couple of hours of walking along an uncomfortable path, particularly in the rainy season.

Location

The waterfall is located in Mirsharai Upazila in the Chittagong Division. It is almost 62 kilometers from the city of Chittagong.

How to get there

First, go to the Bartakia Bazaar in Mirsharai on the Dhaka-Chittagong Highway. From there, you can take a CNG to the local bazaar. Then, just follow the road. After walking for a while, you will reach a jhiri. You can use the jhiri to reach the waterfall, but it is safer to use the trail. However, if you are an experienced trekker and a strong swimmer, you can take the Jhiri path.

There are signs with instructions showing the way to the waterfall, and you can hire a guide. After walking almost 4 km, you will see the main part of the Khoiyachora waterfall. To see the rest of the waterfall, you will have to climb the hill on the left side of the waterfall. It is a bit dangerous. Be careful while climbing.

However, once you reach the first step of the waterfall, you will realize it was worth it. Various bus services are available from Dhaka to Chittagong.
